Did you know multiple studies have shown that mind/body techniques improve conception rates? One of the most often-cited of those studies was conducted at the Harvard Medical School; the study found that female fertility patients who participated in a mind/body program including  yoga and meditation were 3x more likely to get pregnant than those in a control group. Amazing!

Fertility Doula Sessions

Just a like a birth doula, the role of a fertility doula is to be a support and resource for you as you go through this experience. According to Eastern medicine, disease is an indication of imbalance, so we need to discover where in your life are the areas of need and/or excess and then find ways to bring those into balance. Together, we explore tools to heal hormonal, physical, emotional, and work/life imbalances in order to cultivate a more fertile body and more fertile future. In other words, we want to prepare not just your body but your whole self, mind/body/spirit, for pregnancy and parenthood. Again, here is a menu of tools that we may work with during fertility doula sessions:

  • Cycle charting

  • Nutrition coaching

  • Acupressure

  • Guided meditation/visualization

  • Breath work

  • Fertility-boosting yoga poses

  • Evidence-based self regulation tools

Fertility Yoga

Here's what you can expect when you try fertility yoga: Gentle yoga sequences to increase circulation to the reproductive organs, as well as those that support reproduction, such as the liver and kidneys. Restorative poses that invite the body and mind to relax and be still. Breathwork to calm the nervous system through the breath. Meditation/Guided Relaxation to quiet the mind and gain clarity on the journey.

Some of the ways that yoga supports fertility:

  • improves hormone balance

  • increases circulation to the reproductive organs

  • supports detoxification

  • reduces stress

  • lowers cortisol levels

  • improves sleep quality

  • fosters the body's restorative processes

  • renews energy

New to yoga? Fertility yoga is very gentle, which makes it a beginner-friendly practice.
